Tom Selleck

Tom SelleckAmerican actor Thomas William Selleck. His most well-known role was that of Thomas Magnum, a private investigator in Magnum, P.I. (1980-1988), for which he received five Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actor in the Drama Series, winning in 1985. From 2010 until 2010 Selleck has played New York City Police Chief Frank Reagan. In nine TV films inspired by the Robert B. Parker novels in which he portrayed Jesse Stone, a troubled small-town chief of police, which began in 2005. Selleck also starred in Three Men and a Baby (1987) as well as Three Men and a Little Lady(1990). In addition to his role in Magnum, P.I., Selleck has appeared in more than 50 movies and television shows, which include the movies Quigley Down Under, Mr. Lassiter and baseball. He appeared on television in recurring roles as Monica Geller's love interest Dr. Richard Burke on Friends, as Lance White, the likeable and innocent partner in The Rockford Files, and as the owner of a casino A.J. Cooper on Las Vegas. Cooper also had a leading role in the television western film The Sacketts, based on two of Louis L'Amour's books.Selleck is a California Army National Guard veteran and a spokesperson for the National Rifle Association (NRA), an endorser in advertisements for National Review magazine, and co-founder of the Character Counts! organization.
